Good to know

You are sure to get the "Old Florida" experience here at the Grove. Located on a healthy orange grove, next to a spring-fed canal, amongst century-old cypress trees. The "Kitschy Cottage" is situated in a traditional neighborhood setting, on East Gobbler Drive, but you will have private access through your back gate to experience and explore Wonderfield Farm and Grove to get away from it all! *Know that the cottage is not a secluded farmhouse, it is located on a traditional neighborhood street, but a few steps east will give you access to our 66-acre property that is a wilderness of natural beauty. Our property is just minutes away from some of the most famous springs in Florida, such as Crystal River Springs, Rainbow River Springs, Homosassa Springs, just to name a few! Besides spending a day snorkeling among the manatees, you can find plenty of other outdoor activities to do - canoeing, kayaking, and hiking - all right here on the property or just a drive away. There is a public boat ramp to access the Floral City Chain of Lakes just down the road (.25 miles away) if you plan on bringing a boat. You may park your boat, trailer, RV, on the property, no problem. Feel free to harvest some fruits, veggies, herbs, and of course citrus during your stay (depending on harvest season, varieties will change.) We love to share our abundance and know there are few things as good as harvesting your own food. Enjoy as breakfast, a snack, or squeeze your own orange juice! Please note, we ask for a $50 pet cleaning fee. Please leave cash in the cottage at the end of your stay or send right here through Airbnb.

Other Details to Note

The Kitschy Cottage is a bit "off the beaten path" as they like to say - nestled back in a small neighborhood with NO wifi and no TV. And to make it clear, the actual cottage is near the front of the property - you will be right off the road, next to other homes, just as in a traditional neighborhood. The seclusion takes place on the 66 acres behind the cottage, which you will have access to explore! The neighbors are very kind and helpful. You will surely experience some good ol' southern hospitality here so no need to worry about safety. Also, as the property is located on the Floral City chain of lakes, there is a chance to see alligators near the canal on the property. Be mindful, as it is Florida and although this is a common sighting to the locals, it could be very startling!

It was a great place to explore this area of Florida. Inverness, crystal river and all the state parks in the area were within a manageable driving distance. I would highly recommend you stay here for a low key and real Florida experience.

It’s a cute little home with a backyard that has a door to Narnia. All jokes aside the farm that is in the backyard of this place is so homey and welcoming and peaceful. It was lovely my 2 year old love checking the goats and studly the turkey everyday. They let us do a family photo shoot that we had originally planned to take somewhere else there. Super nice folks.

I stayed at the Airbnb Wonderfield Farm for a month. It is genuinely a place filled with the inspiring, joyful and respectful wonder with Nature in all its forms. The farm is vast, with its walking paths, picturesque canal, animals happy to be pet, orange trees, and vegetable gardens. The hosts; Tara and Kay and farm personnel made me feel like I belonged to the Wonderfield Farm family from the day one. I was inspired by the spirit of collective goodness present in the restorative farming, foresting and the practical joy of living on the land. I was free to be involved in the community activities or to practice creative solitude staying at my cottage which was superbly clean and well equipped for long-term stay. For cyclists, Withlacoochee State trail is 5 away. Within 15 min drive you are in Inverness a town bustling with all forms of recreation shopping and restaurants. The Wonderfield Farm have offered me an incubator of love, creativity and healing. I am already missing it!

Tara was a great host. It was exactly what we were looking for to bring in the new year. Quiet and peaceful. The back gate entry to wonderland farm was perfect to get away and enjoy the river and all the farm has to offer. Highly recommend

Such a peaceful place. It was extra special to be able to sit out in the sunshine with my dogs in the fenced in yard. We walked all over the beautiful property in serenity. Great place to relax and reset.

Tara’s place was great for what we needed. We were very busy the whole time visiting family and barely had time to enjoy the farm. We did a short walk with family by the river and the farm looks like a really cool place to host a party of people. The barn had a little stage that we didn’t use but it could be really cool for a band to play. It had all the amenities we needed because we were just there to mainly sleep and shower. We also have dogs, so they were able to run around the fenced in yard. We had to leave them at the house a couple of times and it’s in a neighborhood but private enough that our dogs hopefully didn’t bother anyone. The tents look really cool for anyone wanting a glamping experience and the other cottages they offer looked nice as well! The price was also very good compare to other places! Thank you Tara for the great stay!
