Quaint Cottage on an Old Florida Orange Grove
Floral City, FL, United States
About
Wonderfield is a 66-acre regenerative farm and citrus grove bordering 10,000 acres of protected Florida wilderness. Kayak a spring-fed canal, walk miles of private trails, harvest fresh citrus (seasonally), and meet the livestock. Inside: natural cotton linens, goat milk soaps, and locally roasted coffee. No WiFi. No TV. Just land, life, and stillness.
Good to know
The cottage is charming. The farm is transformative. The real experience begins the moment you step outside. Wonderfield is a working regenerative farm — an Old Florida agritourism sanctuary where guests are invited to participate, not just observe. Kayak or paddleboard the spring-fed canal. Walk miles of private nature trails through ancient groves and native habitat. Swim, fish, or simply sit beside the water as herons pass overhead. Meet the livestock — cows, goats, chickens, and more. Harvest from the gardens, food forests, and citrus grove — take only what you'll eat that day, and savor every bit of it. After dark, step outside. The night sky here is something you won't forget.
Other Details to Note
The Grove Cottage is a bit "off the beaten path" as they like to say - nestled back in a small neighborhood with NO wifi and no TV. And to make it clear, the actual cottage is near the front of the property - you will be right off the road, next to other homes, just as in a traditional neighborhood. The seclusion takes place on the 66 acres behind the cottage, which you will have access to explore! Wonderfield is a certified agritourism property under Florida law. This means you're stepping into a working farm with real animals, active land, and the beautiful unpredictability that comes with it. Alligators near the canal, livestock on the move, uneven terrain on the trails — this is Florida wilderness, alive and well. No WiFi. No television. This is intentional. The land is the entertainment. Under Florida law, an agritourism operator is not liable for injury or death of, or damage or loss to, a participant in an agritourism activity resulting from the inherent risks of that activity — including risks of land, equipment, animals, and participant conduct. By staying, you acknowledge and assume these risks.

Neighborhood
Your backyard is a beautiful 66-acre orange grove and farm, and just down the road you have access to a public boat ramp and local market! At the market, you'll be able to stock up on basic needs like drinks, snacks, over the counter medicine, and even specialty items for camping and fishing. Our property is just minutes away from some of the most famous springs in Florida, such as Crystal River Springs, Rainbow River Springs, Homosassa Springs, just to name a few! Besides spending a day snorkeling among the manatees, you can find plenty of other outdoor activities to do - canoeing, kayaking, and hiking - all right here on the property or just a drive away.
Guest Access
Every detail of your stay has been chosen with intention. Coffee roasted locally in Brooksville by Mountaineer Coffee — waiting for you on arrival. Soaps handcrafted by a neighboring small business using calming, all-natural goat milk. Linens and towels made from natural cotton and linen — no synthetics, no microfiber. Laundry washed in Molly's Suds, a Florida-founded natural soap — in their Citrus Grove scent, because of course. Furnishings sourced secondhand and with intention — supporting local charities and keeping good things out of landfills. Your stay directly funds the farm, supports local artisans, and contributes to regenerating this land. That's regenerative tourism — and you're part of it.
